Summer Camp
Rainy Day Learning Lab Curosity Camps are thoughtfully designed, small-group experiences that blend creativity, curiosity, and meaningful learning in playful, engaging ways.
Each camp is hosted in a welcoming classroom space at Chico Country Day School and is designed for rising 3rd–6th graders.
All camps are designed and led by Alex Rainey, a classroom teacher and learning designer who brings years of experience creating engaging, student-centered learning experiences.

Four unique camps. Four opportunities to create, think, and explore.
The Puzzle Lab
June 15–18 | 9:00 AM–12:00 PM
A clue-cracking camp full of logic, codes, puzzles, and clever thinking.
Young thinkers will work through hands-on challenges, crack secret codes, solve mysteries, and tackle brainy team missions in this playful, puzzle-filled experience.
Storymakers Studio
June 29–July 2 | 9:00 AM–12:00 PM
A creative camp for kids who love imagination, storytelling, and world-building.
From characters and settings to maps, artifacts, and original story ideas, young creators will build imaginative worlds and bring their ideas to life.
Mystery Writing Camp
July 20–23 | 9:00 AM–12:00 PM
A whodunit writing adventure filled with clues, suspects, suspense, and storytelling twists.
Young sleuths will step into the role of mystery writers as they investigate clues, build suspects, create red herrings, and write their own original mystery stories.
Curious Crates Lab
July 27–30 | 9:00 AM–12:00 PM
A hands-on camp full of mystery objects, creative challenges, curiosity, and inventive thinking.
Young thinkers will explore unusual materials, solve design challenges, investigate mystery crates, and think like makers, problem-solvers, and curious inventors.

Who are these camps designed for?
These camps are designed for rising 3rd–6th graders who enjoy creativity, problem-solving, storytelling, and hands-on learning.
How many students are in each camp?
Each camp is intentionally kept small to create a more engaging and personalized experience.
Where are camps held?
All camps are hosted at Chico Country Day School in a thoughtfully designed classroom space. Camps are open to all students, regardless of where they attend school or if they are homeschooled.
How do I register?
Families begin by submitting the registration form. Once space is confirmed, a payment link will be sent to secure enrollment.
What is the cost?
Tuition is $225 per camp.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Families may cancel up to 7 days before the first day of camp for a full refund. After that time, tuition is non-refundable, though credit may be applied toward another Rainy Day Learning Lab camp if space allows. If a camp is canceled by Rainy Day Learning Lab, families will receive a full refund.
What should my child bring to camp?
Students should bring a water bottle and a small snack each day. All learning materials will be provided. We recommend comfortable clothing for hands-on activities, plus a readiness to think, create, and explore.
